Events and festivals are a vibrant part of the arts scene in South Lake Tahoe. Throughout the year, you’ll find a myriad of events that celebrate our seasons, nature, and cultural heritage such as the Kirkwood Wildzflower Festival, Snowshoe Thompson Tour, Kokanee Salmon Festival, Telegrass Festival, and the Wooden Boats Festival. Great Gatsby Festival Every August the 1920s come alive at the Tallac Historic Site with performers and attendees dressed in vintage attire, old-fashioned games for the kids, crafts, face painting and old-time movies.
Lake Tahoe Festival of Fine Arts Every July, the Tahoe Arts Project holds the most extensive collection of fine art on the South Shore with over 40 local and regional artists’ participation. You’ll find paintings, jewelry, glass, mixed media, woodwork, metalwork, ceramics, sculpture and photography.
Tahoe Adventure Film Festival Every December this film festival highlights the best international action and adventure sports films of the year. South Shore is the perfect stage for this annual adventure film festival that attracts filmmakers, athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to celebrate adventure.
Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival May through September, this is a unique celebration of music, theatre and the visual arts, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Tahoe and the Tallac Historic Site. The combination of beauty, history and talent make the Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival the place for South Shore’s art and culture.
